COP-2B Hydraulic Hatch Control Box

Description

COP-2B is a compact two-button control box used to operate hydraulic hatch covers, doors and similar powered mechanisms from a single hand-held or surface-mounted station. Its two spring-return push buttons are arranged to drive a function in two directions, and the sealed enclosure is built for wet, dusty and outdoor service positions.

What the COP-2B controls

The station is intended for dual-direction actuator control: one button drives the mechanism one way and the second button drives it back. Typical service positions are hydraulic hatch covers, hydraulic doors and small powered gates where the operator needs an immediate, local control point rather than a remote.

Because the enclosure is hand-sized and carries a mounting tab, the same unit can be used either as a suspended control box or fixed to a frame, bracket or machine panel.

Protection for wet and dusty service positions

The COP-2B is rated IP54, which covers protection against dust ingress and against water sprayed from any direction. That rating suits outdoor and wash-down-adjacent positions where the station sees rain, hose spray or process dust, but it is not intended for continuous immersion.

Where a station must withstand direct, sustained water contact or a deeper wash-down regime, confirm the required ingress rating with IEHC before ordering — a different enclosure from the range may be the better match.

Spring-return push buttons

Both actuators are spring-return push buttons. The mechanism returns to its rest position as soon as the operator releases the button, so the controlled function stops when the station is not being deliberately operated. This is the usual arrangement for jog or hold-to-run control of a hatch or door drive.

Button colours and function labels are shown in the product images. If your wiring assigns a different direction to each button, state the labelling you need when ordering so the legend matches the finished panel.

Mounting and wiring

The cable enters through a gland at one end of the enclosure, and the housing is closed with screws around a gasket. Allow working room at the gland end for cable bend radius, and support the cable so that its weight is not carried by the gland.

Continuity, insulation resistance and correct function assignment should be checked before the station is put into service. Electrical connection, commissioning and periodic inspection should be carried out by qualified personnel working to the applicable local regulations.
