Description
XAC-A6713 is the six-button member of the XAC pendant control handle range. Six control buttons plus a mushroom-head emergency stop occupy one sealed, hand-held station, so machinery with several powered functions can be operated from a single control point.
Six buttons plus emergency stop
The six push buttons are arranged in the button column beneath the emergency stop, which sits at the head of the station where it can be struck without adjusting grip. The layout suits machines with up to three paired motions — for example hoist and two travel axes — or a combination of motion and auxiliary functions.
The emergency stop uses positive opening operation: the N/C contact is opened by a direct mechanical action rather than by spring force alone, so a welded contact cannot hold the stop circuit closed. IEC 947-5-1 section 3 defines that requirement.
Emergency stop circuit category, wiring and functional testing form part of the machine safety function and must be designed for the specific machine and verified at commissioning.
Enclosure and ingress protection
The enclosure is double-insulated polypropylene, coloured yellow throughout, and the assembled station is rated IP65 — dust-tight and protected against water projected from a nozzle in any direction. It suits outdoor crane positions and dusty plant areas, but not immersion.
Electrical shock protection is Class II to IEC 536 and NFC 20-030. A moulded cable boot at the head of the enclosure relieves strain on the terminations.
Contacts and durability
The station is rated for a thermal current (Ith) of 10 A and a rated insulation voltage (Ui) of 600 V at pollution degree 3, with a rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) of 6 kV conforming to IEC 947-1. Contacts are N/C or N/O slow break.
Mechanical durability is rated at 1,000,000 operating cycles, and the station withstands 100 g shock conforming to IEC 68-2-27. Short-circuit protection is by 10 A cartridge fuse, type gG (gL).
Wiring and termination
Six control buttons need more conductors than a two-button pendant, so check the cable diameter against the terminal capacity before installation. Screw and captive cable clamp terminals accept from 1 x 0.5 mm² to a maximum, with or without a cable end, of 2 x 1.5 mm² or 1 x 2.5 mm².
Terminal referencing follows CENELEC EN 50013. The station is built to IEC 947-5-1, EN 60947-5-1, IEC 337-1, NFC 63-146 and VDE 0660-200; NEMKO approval applies to the standard station, with a UL Listed A600-Q600 and CSA A600-Q600 special version available for North American projects.
